Have you ever really wanted to stay in shape, but just not been able to make it to the gym? Ari Zandman-Zeman certainly has. After finishing his college basketball career, he joined the Peace Corps and found himself stationed in rural Guatamala, working with children. Of course, being an athlete, he quickly grew frustrated with the lack of opportunities to exercise. So using materials that he could find locally, he began to design his own system of resistance band exercises, creating a “mobile gym” that could be packed in a small bag and used for workouts at all fitness levels, any time, anywhere.
Ari quickly realized that heʼd come up with a great product. But heʼs not the type to go into business for profit alone. When he started his business, Rubberbanditz, he created a socially-conscious business plan to make sure the business benefitted the community as a whole, not just its customers. Every Rubberbanditz product is made from environmentally neutral, sustainable materials, and for every set purchased, Ari donates a set to help create physical education facilities in the Third World. Rubberbanditz is also a partner in several local community service organizations, including Bull City
Forward and Carolina for Kabira.
We were excited to become a part of Ariʼs vision when we signed on to help Rubberbanditz with public relations. And considering how charismatic Ari is and how great a story Rubberbanditz has, itʼs no surprise that weʼve had great success with the campaign. The product has been featured on several blogs and websites, and this summer, we helped get Ari some glowing mentions in WWE Now and Bella magazines. He even got to demonstrate the product on TV, in this segment on My Carolina Today:
